A Federal Judge issued a Nationwide Preliminary Injunction on the new overtime rules, meaning they won’t take effect on December 1st as scheduled.
We’ll see what happens. Will the DOL appeal? Will they do nothing? Will president-elect Trump take it up later?
I’m sure lots of churches will find themselves scrambling between now and December 1st as many, if not most have already made the required staffing, scheduling and/or pay rate changes to meet the new requirements.
Options:
- Do nothing for now
- Pray
- Revert Back to previous schedule and pay rates
- If you gave raises to push people over the threshold, the question becomes, “do you take it back?”
- Pray
- If you laid people off, I’d certainly wait to see what happens
- Did I mention to pray?
